ErnEDITS caught up with Lupe when we was performing at the Kennedy Center couple months back.

Where the hell has Romeo been? This is the first time I’ve seen him anywhere or heard of him for a good five or six years.  Anyway, the group discuss swine flu and whether it’s real or a fake and also preview a track off Sef’s upcoming mixtape, The Hero Never Dies, due out later this month.

Yes, yes he should.  Allhiphop.com ask several hip-hop personas about their take on the beef and whether Jay should respond or not.

Now as a very racially conscious person, I try not to use the word “urban” ever.  There’s something wrong about it.  The word is used to refer to a collective of black music but also suggests that all black music and black (“urban”) artists are from urban areas (i.e. inner city London) and  this gives the impression to the public and the clueless, that this is in fact reality.  Now artists who are black and don’t come from these sort of areas now have to deal with this stereotype and that’s problem I have with the word – it makes me have to deal with their ignorance and perceptions and then go on to correct them because some smart-alec in a suit decided to brand the music that I love and everyone associated with it as “urban”.

This happened at the ‘She Likes To (Remix)’ video shoot and Ghetts makes some valid points.  There’s definitely too much bullshit in the scene at the minute and if you feel a certain way reading this, then I’m probably referring to you and your music.

Wise words, So Solid will always be the pioneers of the “urban” music scene in this country and the ’21 Seconds’ bassline still goes hard in the whip.

Beautiful isn’t it?  The next two days are very important for Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea (ahem) fans.  I know this place is for music but I truly believe we can win the Champions League this year and avoid the dreadful memories of Moscow *tries not to cry*.  My prediction is a Chelsea v Arsenal final, with the obvious going on to win.  Post your predictions and discuss in the comment section (click below).

Update: SMH @ Arsenal’s performance, it was atrocious.  Two goals conceded in a CL semi-final match, within the first 11 minutes = FAIL.

This theory of glory supporters comes from the fact that all Man Utd fans born in the time framed mention previously, have never seen an unsuccessful Man Utd team.  They have always won something, always.  So this begs the question, why do people choose to support Man Utd?  Family heritage could be one, reason, or it could be that these ‘fans’ see the success and think “hmm, I’ll jump on that bandwagon”.  Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal fans have all endured periods in the last ten years where we have won nothing (“we’re still waiting” shout the Gooners) and/or had our team finish in a disappointing position.  When was the last time Man Utd Manure finished outside the top two?
