Continuing to collaborate with creative visionaries, ABSOLUT Vodka presents this new 15-minute short film featuring Jay-Z. The documentary, titled NY-Z, was directed by Danny Clinch and paints a rare portrait of the global hip-hop icon. With unprecedented access to Jay-Z the days and moments leading up to, and after, his legendary September 11th benefit concert at Madison Square Garden, Danny Clinch gives us an intimate glimpse into Jay-Z: his childhood, his motivation as an artist, his passion for music, and his muse, New York.

NY-Z kicks off the ABSOLUT Concert Series, a collaborative partnership between ABSOLUT and two New York icons: Jay-Z and Madison Square Garden.

It’s basically zoomed on Wayne’s mug the whole way through as he vibes and listens back to a verse he’s just presumably spat in his tour bus studio.

Here’s a short documentary which aired back in 2003 and featured Wiley. It was evident then that he was destined for great things in the music scene and it’s funny watching established artists, like Tinchy Stryder and Terror Danjah, struggle to name the music they make and what we subsoquently called “Grime”.

Sidenote: So should it have been named “Eskibeat” instead of “Grime”?  Man, imagine the scene today named after the creator.  Oh and in case you missed it yesterday, Wiley shut down his Twitter account after Maxwell D got involved in the e-beef with Gracious K and DJ Silencer.

This is the first 10 minutes of the The Carter Documentary which was filmed by QD3 and is available today from iTunes and other digital retailers.  I’m going to be watching this in a bit so I’ll update here with what I think and if it’s worth the download money.  Hit the jump to catch unreleased bonus footage of Wayne recording in the studio…

Looking forward this Weezy documentary as I feel it’s always good to see the more human side of such big superstars and the great thing about this documentary is that he is involved himself so we get to hear him talk outside of an interview environment.
