Owen is a world-class player, there is no denying that and I would of been happy even if he came to my beloved Chelsea (but I wanted Tevez).  Of course when the news first broke there was a lot of laughter and mockery in pubs and on the internet with Man Utd ManUre making a non-verbal statement of; “with Ronaldo and Tevez gone, here’s our replacement to keep us on track for another Premier League title”.  This is what fans across the world depicted from the whole transfer process and who could blame them?  Owen will do good things for Man Utd ManUre but he’s past it and can never achieve what I believe Tevez could of  if he had stayed at Old Trafford.  Talent is talent.  I’m now supremely confident that we’ll win the title next season with Liverpool coming second because the facts remain: Man Utd ManUre sold their best two players without replacing them.

Oh, and don’t even get me started with Arsenal…

Chelsea have confirmed that they have rejected a second offer from Manchester City for captain John Terry.  Money-rich City made an unsuccessful bid for the England skipper last season and they have again failed in their attempts to bring the centre-back to Eastlands.

The size of the offer has not been revealed, but Chelsea insist that Terry is not for sale and that the 28-year-old is totally committed to the cause at Stamford Bridge.

A statement on the club’s official website said: “We can confirm we have completely rejected an offer from Manchester City for John Terry.  It was made clear to City, for a second time following an approach last season, that we would not entertain any conversation on the subject.  At the time John also reiterated his total commitment to Chelsea.  We would like to make it clear, and will not do so again, that John is not for sale.”

SMH, what is wrong with these guys?  Do they really think we’re like Man Utd and Arsenal? We will never let our best players go, know this.

Although I have much respect for the Chelsea legend who scored the fastest F.A. Cup Final goal ever, he is definitely not experienced enough to leave my local club, the MK Dons, for a team in the Championship.  Did he not learn from Paul Ince?

And you know thisssss mayn.  Recent viewers will probably be shocked to find football here as it’s a UK hip-hop blog but those who have been riding from the beginning remember the Champions League heated discussion and know that once in a while I’ll be posting footy related news like this, this and this.  Plus, how many blogs do you know combine hip-hop and football?  I’ll wait…

Damn, I hope this isn’t true.

John Terry was responsible for the sacking of Jose Mourinho as Chelsea’s manager, according to the club’s former player Claude Makelele. The former Blues’ midfielder makes the claims in his autobiography ‘Tout Simplement’, published in France today.

“I thought Mourinho was practically untouchable, but a lot of players had complained about him, notably John Terry,” British broadsheet newspaper The Times reports the book as revealing.

“When John Terry let his discontent be known to [Peter] Kenyon [the chief executive] and asked him for an immediate transfer, [Roman] Abramovich [the club's owner] reacted immediately: the departure of Terry was totally unimaginable, from the point of view of the supporters, the players or the club owners. Mourinho was asked to pack his bags.”

The row allegedly took place on the eve of Chelsea’s Champions League tie with Norway’s Rosenborg on September 18, 2007.  Although it is well known that Mourinho and Terry had previously clashed over the England defender’s physical condition, both parties have reportedly moved swiftly to deny Makelele’s claims, with Terry issuing a statement through his lawyers refuting the allegations.  The Times also reports that Mourinho has contacted the Chelsea defender, in order to pledge that he will publicly deny the reports.

As you all know Chelsea have an important match tomorrow in what should be a relatively comfortable win.  No shots.  This will be our only trophy of the season but I have a feeling that the 2009/10 season is going to be really special for us, especially if we’re signing the player who I was told about earlier today.  I don’t even think Sky Sports News have reported it yet…

A Manchester United fan in Nigeria killed four people when he drove his minibus into a crowd of Barcelona supporters after his team lost the Champions League final, police said on Thursday.

The crowd in the town of Ogbo were celebrating Barcelona’s victory after Wednesday night’s match when the bus drove into them. A police spokeswoman said 10 people were injured and the driver was arrested.

“The driver had passed the crowd then made a U-turn and ran into them,” she said.

Barcelona beat Manchester United 2-0 in what was hailed as a “dream final” between two of Europe’s best clubs. Both teams have large fan bases in Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation.

Probably the most ourtrageous refereeing I have ever seen.  Not only did we play the better football with more chances, we were also denied countless decisions including four penalty claims.  I have always disliked Barca and now have further reason to, but this time it is not their diving and dirty tactics (like under Frank Rijkaard) that get to me, it’s their 3 other team mates; yes, Barca played with 14 men…

Ever since the Mourinho fiasco with UEFA a few years back in the Champions League, Chelsea’s relationship with the European football governing body has been strained.  The countless biased and pre-mentored decisions mistakes made by the god-awful referee were very suspect.  The rumours swirling around the internet are that these decisions were heavily influence by the UEFA ,who want to stop the English sides dominating Europe and have allegedly said they do not want two English teams in the CL Final (see: video below).  I have no personal opinon on this, however I do find it very interesting.  There is solace in knowing Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton fans not only witnessed this debacle but also know that, just like in Moscow last year, the better team went home as the losers.

I really don’t understand why, but it must be gambling related.  If this guy had a family and left behind kids, its probably best they didn’t have a coward to raise them anymore.  Yeah, I just said that.

Suleiman Alphonso Omondi, a 29-year-old Kenyan living in the capital Nairobi’s Embakasi neighbourhood, hanged himself in his Arsenal shirt after the match.

 ”We were watching the match at Bamba 70 pub, and when Arsenal was defeated, Suleiman just walked out in protest and he was crying,” Calvin Otieno, one of his friends, said.

“We didn’t know he was going to hang himself until this morning when we received the reports and came here to find his body at the balcony,” Otieno said outside the deceased’s home.

Arsenal slumped to a 3-1 defeat at home in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final, capping a disappointing season for the Gunners who were already out of the Premier League title race early in the season.

Beautiful isn’t it?  The next two days are very important for Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea (ahem) fans.  I know this place is for music but I truly believe we can win the Champions League this year and avoid the dreadful memories of Moscow *tries not to cry*.  My prediction is a Chelsea v Arsenal final, with the obvious going on to win.  Post your predictions and discuss in the comment section (click below).

Update: SMH @ Arsenal’s performance, it was atrocious.  Two goals conceded in a CL semi-final match, within the first 11 minutes = FAIL.

This theory of glory supporters comes from the fact that all Man Utd fans born in the time framed mention previously, have never seen an unsuccessful Man Utd team.  They have always won something, always.  So this begs the question, why do people choose to support Man Utd?  Family heritage could be one, reason, or it could be that these ‘fans’ see the success and think “hmm, I’ll jump on that bandwagon”.  Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal fans have all endured periods in the last ten years where we have won nothing (“we’re still waiting” shout the Gooners) and/or had our team finish in a disappointing position.  When was the last time Man Utd Manure finished outside the top two?

Warning: this is not for the faint hearted, Barca could possibly be the best attacking team in the world.

And yes, I am fearful for Wednesday night but if we come out victorious, the Champions League is ours - whoever we may face in Rome.

This is the new Chelsea kit for next season.  Looks awful at first but I think it’ll grow on me and is definitely better than our current one.

Hmm, not sure what green has to do with anything, or why Chelsea didn’t stick with the orange theme for the goalie kit, which apparently made Cech appear larger to the opposition.  Like being 6ft 5′ isn’t large enough.

I always say I don’t like the new kit and won’t buy it… so you’ll be seeing me rocking the home kit from 14/5 and it’ll be a treat to myself for finishing my exams.  Now where are those Law textbooks…
