On Friday 18th September, Nike Sportswear and Mercury Music Prize winning recording artist Dizzee Rascal will release the very special, and strictly limited, Nike Air Max 90 ‘Tongue N’ Cheek’ sneaker. The shoe has been created in a special partnership between Dizzee, Nike Design and long-time Dizzee collaborator and creative director, Ben Drury and will go on sale exclusively at Nike’s1948 store in London’s Shoreditch, ahead of the release of Dizzee’s fourth LP, Tongue N’ Cheek (Monday 21st September).

This promo video has been created specially to celebrate these two releases. Art directed by Drury, shot by hype photographers Tim & Barry (dontwatchthat.tv) the same creative team behind the album artwork, also includes the skills of up and coming director/animator James Copeman. Set to ‘Chillin Wiv Da Man Dem’ – the sound of Dizzee at his most laid-back- the film fuses elements of the album artwork with additional footage, and is a light hearted look into Rascal’s world.

This is a massive look for Dizzee and just goes to show what an international superstar he’s become.

Poetic Pilgrimage are a progressive and poetic hip hop duo formed by Muneera Rashida and Sukina Abdul Noor in Bristol, 2002. Now based in London, the two aim to spread their “simple message of peace love and unity” through their interesting blend of old school hip hop, acid jazz, neo-soul and various African genres, including traditional Malian music and Afrobeat. They also reference their Jamaican heritage by using snippets of reggae, dancehall and dub. Live, their line-up varies from the two of them performing poetry acappella, to a full band which can include drums, bass guitar, electric guitar, piano and saxophone. They see themselves as part of a growing global hip hop movement embracing world music; in their words, “hip hop no longer belongs to America”.

To celebrate the release of his album, Party Hard, Donaeo is having his official album release party tonight @ Opus Milton Keynes.
